my health team has given me the ok to start sewing again. my back is back! and my shoulders. and my hands. i don’t think i’ve turned on the machines since december, save for a few simple card sewing sessions for my shop orders. above are some new datebook cozies i sewed this morning and posted in the webstore. gosh, i’ve sewn hundreds of these throughout the years.
wait, you say – health *team*? yes, i have a health team. you didn’t think i get away with doing this sort of physical work for years on end scott free did you? well, i used to think i could, until my body just up and quit on me last year in every way possible. now i see an exercise trainer 3 times a week, a chiropractor every other week and a massage therapist every 4 weeks. none of this is covered by my crappy health insurance. but, finally, after a year, i can sew again. and the cost of my health team will be reflected in the price of each sewn item i make from now on!
the library hold gods have delivered this book to me this week. wow, it makes good breakfast reading! so much good information on how to maximize your container gardens: succession planting for the seasons, stacking wood container ideas, alternative container ideas, a trellis tent arrangement… i could go on and on, and i’m not even through 2 chapters yet!
i’m still working on the weekly veggie garden drawings. it’s fine, nothing’s grown much in the garden this week since it’s been overcast. it hasn’t rained though, which is annoying – the rain barrels are dry and could use a good fill up! i’ve been distracted by my new suite of drawings i can’t tell you about yet. and planning for the upcoming drawing workshops.

sewing can be hard on the body, for sure. best of luck with your *health team*! oh, and i saw your work at life + limb a few weeks ago- beautiful stuff!
hang in there! your work is beautiful and would want nothing more than to see many more amazing things created by you for years to come~ but health is everything so sending you lots of positive energy!
